How to order

Browse the pages & select your choice from the range of alpine plants in the Shop
Add quantity to basket
Pay securely with a debit or credit card or Paypal
You should receive an immediate automated acknowledgement email which says ‘PROCESSING ORDER’
I only despatch Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday mornings to avoid plants being held up over the weekend & get on with growing the rest of the week & going out to events at weekends.(under non-Covid19 conditions of course!)
Once despatched you should receive an ‘ORDER COMPLETION’ email.
Your plants will be delivered by 1st class Royal Mail or parcel courier (APC) & will usually arrive within 24 hours of this Order Completion message. Please let me know a.s.a.p if this does not happen as the sooner I know, the sooner I can investigate the problem.
You may cancel your order at any time before despatch or order completion.
Cancelling after despatch will incur extra costs as it will be too late & your plants will be on their way to you!
I cannot reserve plants or take any forward orders at the present time.
There is a minimum order quantity of 3 plants (or £10) plus postage (currently £6.00). This makes the postage & packaging costs more efficient & economical for both parties.
For larger orders (> 60 plants) then please contact me to discuss your
requirements.
The stock levels of each plant are kept low on the website ordering system preventing you from ordering more than is currently available & giving me time to catch up with growing & stock control. If you require more please contact me as it is fairly likely that I have more available.
If you have any further questions about ordering, plants, availability, delivery –
please use the ‘Contact Us’ form or email me and I will reply as soon as I can. Your patience is appreciated.

Delivery

Your plants will usually arrive within 8 days of ordering (often sooner) & within 2 days of despatch/order completion. Orders received from Wednesday will usually be held over for despatch the following week. My aim is always to get your plants to you as quickly as possible, avoiding any potential hold ups over a weekend.
Delivery is by Royal Mail or parcel courier – APC
Parcels & vans are tracked giving a better assurance that the parcel has been delivered.
Please be aware that the courier may use your telephone number provided, to assist in any delivery problems. Customers should receive delivery alerts by text if a mobile number has been provided.
Occasionally I will contact you by the telephone number provided rather than email to resolve any problems with delivery.
Despatch days are normally Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday thus trying to avoid plants being held in boxes over the weekend
Please contact me if you do not receive your plants within 3 days of your order completion email so the delivery can be tracked & any problems resolved ASAP.
Spot checks on the courier tracking system are carried out but unfortunately I cannot check every single parcel. I ask you to let me know sooner rather than later if there is a hold up. This will help make sure that your plants arrive in good condition.

Help us give you the best delivery service:

Tell us your ‘Safe Place’.

APC can leave a parcel without signature in your designated ‘Safe Place’. Please note this in the ‘Instructions’ box at the checkout & it will be transferred to your delivery label. However, it is only fair I point out that APC will reject claims for non-delivery as every parcel is tracked right to its destination & the delivery vans are GPS tracked and recorded.

Give us your mobile phone number.

APC can then send a text message (SMS) to give you an update on your delivery. Your number will only be used by them for this purpose or by me to follow up any delivery problem.

Ask for delivery elsewhere.

You may have plants delivered to, for example, your place of work, a friend, relative or a neighbour. An option to change the delivery address is available as you pass through checkout.

Do you live in a remote or rural area?

If so, then please contact me when ordering & I will do my best to book your parcel with Royal Mail rather than APC to assist with your delivery as your local postman will be more familiar with your property.

Non-delivery – Where are my plants?

Thankfully, this rarely happens but things can go wrong – weather events, breakdowns, illness etc. As explained above, you should normally expect to receive your order no later than 24 hours after your Despatched/Order Completed email.
You must tell me if your plants do not arrive as planned, using the Contact Us page or by email and preferably on the same evening of your expected delivery day. In all but very rare and exceptional circumstances your plants will probably arrive only one day late – but please let me investigate as soon as I can to reduce any further delays. It is important to me that your plants arrive in a good, healthy condition as quickly as possible.

Payment

All orders must be paid for online through the Checkout process.
You may pay securely using your own online banking applications using most major debit and credit cards or using the Paypal link
I cannot accept payments by telephone.
An itemised receipt/delivery note will be enclosed with your plants.
A bank transfer payment is sent securely through your own bank account not through the website currently so no details are held within it.
Paypal offers additional security for your details. I never see your card details – these are handled securely by Paypal and only the payment is sent to my account.

Privacy Statement

My Privacy Statement helps me comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection
Regulations) which took effect from May 2018.
I value your privacy as I value my own.
I do not send marketing emails, newsletters etc.
This site uses cookies but only to make the site easier to use, not to gather or store information about you or your shopping habits.
I will only collect your personal details as required to process your order. I must also keep those details in my records/accounts to comply with HMRC and other regulatory requirements.

I will not pass on your email address, postal address or telephone number to any 3rd parties – with the exception of my couriers who will use some or all of this information, but only to facilitate deliveries.
I will normally only contact you by email (occasionally by telephone or SMS text message) as required in fulfilling your order or dealing with your enquiries.
Paypal handle your payments in a safe and secure way – I never see your card details.
Bank transfer is currently outside of the website through your own banking facility, none of your details therefore being held within the website or its background.
My own payment pages (where you enter your address etc. in checkout) are also fully encrypted and SSL enabled – look for the secure padlock symbol or https:// at the start of the website address in your browser. The ‘s’ added to http:// stands for secure.
You have the right to request what data I hold about you and to ask for it to be deleted.

Complaints

I hope that this is unlikely as I strive to grow the best quality plants that I can & will only send the same. My aim is to supply you with plants that are fully rooted, of good quality & fit for your garden. If for any reason you are not happy with the plants you have received, please let me know as soon as possible and I will aim to sort things out to your satisfaction as quickly as possible. Please use the Contact Us form or send me an email.
I can occasionally be let down by the parcel couriers (as with every online business) but I will handle problems with delivery. Please inform me promptly using our Contact Us form – the earlier I know of problems the better I can deal with them.

I cannot offer any guarantee on plants once you have accepted them and they are in your care. Unfortunately I can’t be responsible for nature but I will consider any genuine complaint. If you subsequently discover plants are wrongly labelled (once they flower, for example) then naturally, I would hope to rectify that. My liability is restricted to the original price of the plant(s) and I will refund only that amount if necessary.
I may accept returns at my discretion and only by arrangement. Return postage is the responsibility of the customer. Subject to plants being received back in good condition, I shall issue a prompt refund including your original delivery charge.
You also have statutory protection under the Consumer Contract Regulations (links to government website). Plants, being perishable, are excluded from parts of this legislation.

Feedback

Hopefully you will be happy with your plants & enjoy them in your garden as much as I enjoy growing them. Please feel free to let me know; your enjoyment of what I love doing makes it even more worthwhile.
